Tips On: Taking Out Inspirations

Hello there kids. I am writing in early today, since I will be having a busy day. I am giving "Craft Diys" a rest these days as I realized I was just posting too many crafts. I want my blog to touch all aspects of fashion world and not just "Crafts".

Today's post is about the trickiest part of whole designing process which is taking out "Inspirations". Many of you kids out there get stuck in middle of not being able to get any creative ideas or inspirations. After releasing several successful designs, I have noticed eventually the designer fails or goes into an uninspiring RUT.

My, or your question is that, why would the creativity level become dull when they say "One can never use up creativity, it keeps on growing"?. So isn't it true?. Let me tell you kids, the little trick I use is called Eye Catching or being Observant. I have been creating from 5 years and trust me there was not a single time where I felt "Stuck" in an uninspired rut or not saw something which did not give me a new idea to create something fresh. Every single picture, every single thing in life has equal possibility for giving birth to an awesome new design. But how will you give birth to new designs?. Observe below:

I came across this awesome photo shoot from Vogue magazine. Just try to notice the unique bits in any photo and mark them with your inspiration which is in your mind. I marked the use of white liner and gemstones bracelet in picture.

Any unique idea would do you good. Like how about something more casual?. The skull cut out shirt is great so I marked it.

Here is my favorite Abbey Dawn Fashion show look. You can not only mark bits and pieces of jewelry or makeup inspirations, but also the color combinations used in any photo.

Here is the makeup look inspiration I took from kareena kapoor's photo.  The trick behind taking out any inspirations is to be observant and look for key elements in the photo.

Lastly, there is always something more than what meets the eye. Practice looking at photos and try marking unique elements/inspirations from them. Eventually you will learn the art of being inspired even in dullest times of the year.

Tips On: Sketching!

Hello all!^. How you doing?. Hope you all are having fun following my DIYs x>. Lately there has been rise in my sketch work at my instagram account: @styleatfootstep. I share fun behind the scene videos a lot at my instagram. Which got beginner designers question that how to even sketch? And from where you should start?. Personally, I sketch just for fun. During my fashion degree, I would get tons of assignments related to sketching part. Somehow I got addicted to drawing. Here are some ideas & tips for starting out as a doodle artist or sketcher:

Pretty Things To Remember:

These lovely tips are beautiful, you can save it in your phone

for reminder.When you are sketching, patience is the key fendis.

You can not possibly finish one sketch in a day. Take time,

relax. Just do one bit at a time. So that you have 

really made your sketch from heart & not for the sake

of pressure received from it.

Start From Here:

The first homework I have for you is to start

with learning to draw realistic looking eye.

Trust me I learned to draw this when was hardly 

11 years old. It's something very basic you

should know how to sketch.The above tutorial is awesome.

You can make step by step realistic eye by following  the above

steps^.

Envision Your Fantasy:

Your next homework I want to give you is,

write down your list of thoughts & feelings.

Try drawing them on sketch paper. This

activity will not only help you picture your

imagination better, but also the more you will

do so, the better chances of creative growth

you will receive x>. I started out exactly like that.

Tips On: Making Your Own Logo

When I started my face book page and brand: Style At Foot Step, I really wanted my logo to not typically be a geometric sign or corel draw infused image. I wanted my logo to endure that party vibe. I wanted it to be colorful, fun and unique. So here what I did:

I chose my photo and desaturated it's colors, then I resaturated

it again with hues. Adding cute text using picmonkey.com and

mustache stamp later^.

My Inspiration:

Kfc logo of colonel sanders xD.

I know it's funny that my inspiration came from the weirdest

part ever. But it's true i love KFC. Crazy about it!.

This logo is so unique, I had to use it as my inspiration.

This picture was taken at floral day theme party,

i was all colorful & holding balloons. What could be

perfect match than this photo :>?. I was smiling like

colonel in this photo plus was holding balloons.

It was perfect logo for my brand ^^.

#1 Make sure your logo represents the

type of service/product you selling.

#2 It should go according to your theme.

Tips On: Emotional Extremism!

I don't know about you, but just like many artists, I struggle finding balance between my emotions. Mostly artists tend to be extremist. We hate and love both from our hearts with a level of extremism. There is no inbetween way. This can be quite problematic at times, especially when you get stung by someone's venomous words or get yourself betrayed, whatever work you're doing gets affected in a same way like your soul/heart has. So how to deal with being emotional person and still get your work done?.It's hardly been 2 years since i started designing, I have long way to go. But still, these two years have taught me big lessons. There are few things i've learned for controlling my extreme emotions which has helped me, today i'll share these with you:

#1 Don't Ever Stop Creating:

No matter what you're going through, whether you're depressed or in a bad mood, you still have to go on creating, you still have to continue doing what you know the best. Life and time will move on, you don't get the option to stop at one moment and start on the next. When you're an artist, you need to struggle

every single day, every single second, to succeed. Otherwise you won't. Life at times don't give you the luxury to even be emotional.Get all your work done first and then be as much emotional as you want to feel. At least this way you won't feel guilty later that you have wasted time whining instead of actually creating something.

#2 Put Your Dreams On Top Of Your Emotions:

One Thing time did taught me is this, you need to put your dreams, your passion, your work on top of your emotions to succeed. Kicking emotions down,  boosting your ego and self esteem will one day make you successful in what you want the most. So do this: Next time emotions or depression start bothering you, just pick up your paint brush, camera, sketchbook, scissors and start creating. Trust me, instead of crying over spilt milk creating something might actually help you in positive way^.

#3 Convert Your Negative Emotions Into Art:

As much as painful and hard it might be doing this, but the process of converting your negative energy, into some form of art might infact help you feel proud of yourself later. An instant level of empowerment you can receive by doing this. I know, can understand how many talented artists in this world get ruined just because of their emotions. These negative emotions can come in your way of success and screw up your work, your time and mental peace of mind as well. So push off those bad feelings and start creating instead of feeling down.

So after applying these tips i give above what will you achieve? You will be creating art even in your most emotional times, over coming your sadness and this feeling would be far more empowering than your feelings of hurt or depression. You should all know that you are a rockstar at what you know how to do best. And without further adieu, now go create something and feel proud of yourself.^

Tips On: Adding Cute Dotted Writings On Photos^!

Lately having craze for mini succulent planters and cactus x>. I made cactus illustration for my this project just for fun display :>. Today i will sharing tips on how i made this cute dotted writing on my cacti photo:D.

#1 In order to get cute dotted writing like above, first thing

you need to do is add some thin writing on your photo like this.

And add 2 space gap between each alphabet like i did below.

#2  When you are done adding writing. Then Magnify your picture

and using picmonkey.com "draw tool", choose right brush size, 

bit by bit add dots on alphabets x>.

Tips On: Portraits And Posing !

These days everyone wants to pose like a model and take some vogue inspired shots. But what most photographers/models lack is soul in their photographs. The picture won't feel right if your heart is not in it. One thing i've learned from 3 years of dozens of photoshoots i've done is; you can never stop at one point and be like "Now i've reached perfection and i'm perfect at what I do". It's a life learning process and your knowledge is never enough. From every shoot, i've learned so many perks of posing, modeling and how to use props in photoshoots. Today i will share some fun things that i've learned as a portrait model in 3 years.

#1 Wear Lots of Colorful Accessories:

Wearing accessories can be fun especially for adding some color to 

dull photographs. Plus accessories also work as diversion in photography.

Empty wrists can look plain dull when doing some portraits or

posing as model. Make sure you wear necklaces and some bracelets 

in your next shoot^.

#2 Try Different Effects On One Picture:

The best way to choose what is looking "good" on your 

photo the most is by, trying out different effects on your picture.

And then choosing the right one for your photo.

I edit all my pictures myself and sometimes even edit pictures

from my shoots x>. My editing is strong compared to

photography^. You can add some fun effects

using picmonkey.com. I've used two effects from this site above.

#3 Use Air For Dramatic Effects:

Do not use hair dryer for adding wind effect to your portraits. 

I did that once and all my makeup just melted (like lol yeah).

Make sure you have mini round fan for this otherwise you can

always shoot at very windy day on top of your roof

for better realistic results x>.

#4 Pose Like A Vogue Model:

The best inspirations to take are from Vogue magazine.

Save some snaps from vogue magazine and carry them with

you on photoshoot. This way you'll remember your poses &

also save time from panicking about what to do

in your photoshoot.

#5 Sunlight Technique:

This picture must be looking like it's taken by a professional,

from Dslr right?^. Don't be fooled. It's taken from digital camera.

How I got an amazing shot like this?x>. Simple: Look in direction of sunlight

and take your photo from below. This way "sunlight" acts as natural

lighting and makes your photo look flawless. Add some vintage effects

later on top.

Tips On: Hair Chalk!

I live in Islamabad, here you can't find hair chalk that easily. So i asked my ma to send me from Usa(lucky me). But you can buy them easily at target's for hardly 5$ x> .

This one is very handy it lets you play with some chalk without getting your hands messy x>

It comes in two colors mint green & baby pink how cute!

These are very lovely too, they look like lollipops. The ball of pop is for your grip

during chalking process x>.

 The idea of hair chalking is so much fun. You can add parrot green or hot pink streak at anytime in your hairs. Say you are heading out for party wearing pink dress- *Snap* You go with parrot green hair streak. Hair chalk is washable & requires just bit of care for having nice smooth results.

Here are some tips for you to get started on:

#1 Make sure your hairs are washed & not oily, since the chalk won't  blend well on oily hairs.
#2 On darker hairs the result won't be much obvious (since i'm brunette myself), But still the color will pop out somehow at least.
#3 Hair chalk can make hair dry & rough, that's natural, will be happening, nothing to worry about x>.
#4 If you going out at day time in sunlight in hot weather I won't recommend you hair chalking yourself.
#5 For removing your hair chalk, go take a shower & condition your hairs :D!
